Day Seventeen through Twenty One

Hello Everyone :)!
Just wanted to recap the last couple days of the sugar detox for Ryan and I. The last couple of days were not the easiest, it definitely took both of us to stay diligent! We were so close and had accomplished so much that we both just wanted to have our treat meals. I do,  however, have some great recipes from the last few days that I would like to share:

Sweet Potato Pancakes from Cindy's Table.
They are NOT beautiful, but they were tasty :). They are supposed to be waffles and I think they would turn out more attractive that way but we do not own a waffle maker. We did not add the maple syrup that the recipe called for. These could be made savory or sweet by switching up the spices. Next time I make them I think I will do them savory, and  make a creme sauce with peas to go over them.

I loved this, and it was extremely filling. As most people know, I do not eat pork or beef. For the sausage I used chicken sausages with very few ingredients that we buy at Sam's Club and I sliced them into small pieces. For the power greens I used kale. This is definitely a meal for the men in your life: potato's, eggs, sausage? What guy wouldn't love this? They don't have to know it's healthy ;).

Hot & Sweet Ginger-Garlic Chicken with Roasted Cauliflower Soup from the 21-Day Sugar Detox Book

For the cauliflower soup we used our homemade bone broth from the thanksgiving turkey carcass. It seriously adds so much flavor to do it this way. I am hoping to get our hands on some fresh chicken frames this spring to make more bone broth out of. It is time consuming to make, but I really think it is worth it.

SALADS, SALADS, SALADS :)
We ate so many salads the last few days, simply because they are cheap and we didn't want to cook. At Sam's Club you can get a giant container of organic mixed greens for roughly $3.69. The container is packed with greens and lasts us a long time. We always have one of these around along with some of our favorite salad toppings which include: frozen peas, pickled beets, pumpkin seeds, chopped carrots, and boiled eggs.
On the detox you pretty much have to make your own salad dressings to avoid added sugar, but off of the detox we love Brianna's salad dressings and Private Selection salad dressings from Smith's. I particularly have a guilty pleasure for Brianna's poppy seed dressing :).

Coming Off of the Detox

We broke the detox on Day 21 because we were attending a farewell talk and dinner for Ryan's cousin. The dinner was a pot luck and we took a chocolate tres leches cake which was the best thing ever! The author of the book highly recommends only adding back in one off detox food per day as you come off of it. Boy, do I wish we would have taken that advice! The pot luck contained pretty much NO approved foods and I enjoyed every freaking bite of it.....until holy grail of bad digestion. We came home, Ryan complained he was bloated and I had the worst heartburn of my life which is something I rarely have. It definitely was motivation to get back on plan today. I have eaten really healthy today, adding back in oatmeal and honey, and I feel great. Definitely planning on staying away from breads and processed sugar.

I hope these posts have encouraged you to try the detox, or even just improve your eating habits. The food you consume is so important in determining how you feel. Start with small steps!

Best Wishes!!

Day Fourteen, Fifteen, & Sixteen: We heart Crepes

DAYS FOURTEEN, FIFTEEN, & SIXTEEN

Hi. So we haven't been doing very good, I mean we haven't consumed any of our NO foods but we also haven't been meal planning and eating a lot of nutrients. I still feel good, but I don't feel as good as I did when I was eating such a wide array of fresh foods every day. Perhaps the key isn't to just get sugar out of your life, but to eat more vegetables, protein, etc. Ryan made a meal plan today though and we went shopping for it so hopefully we will be back on board  this week! This diet is really just starting to become a part of my life and I am excited to continue on this way. I'm even more excited that we figured out together what kind of a lifestyle (food wise) we want to live and that we can pass that on to our future (distant future;)!) children.

The detox has also improved my self control. It really is true when people say that self control is like a muscle, if you don't use it you lose it. And the more often you use it the stronger it gets. Not only am I better able to resist foods that are unhealthy for my body, but I have more motivation to force myself to go to the gym on days I don't want to.

When Ryan and I tell people what we are doing a lot of people say we are crazy. They ask us "what can you eat?", or say "that sounds miserable." First of all we have SO MUCH FOOD to eat it's insane. I have been introduced to a whole new flavor palette and combinations I would never have imagined. And secondly it's not miserable, I promise :). If you are really struggling with breaking through a weight loss plateau, or getting control of your eating habits in general..I urge you to try it. It is amazing what real whole foods can do for your body :).

I do have a few food pictures to share and a recipe that we made tonight!

Here is a better picture of the Salsa chicken I mentioned in our previous post, all dressed up as a delicious salad:

YUM.

Tonight's dinner was Grain-free Crepes from againstallgrain.com
The crepe on the right we just put cheese on and this one kind of broke :(. The crepe on the left we made a coconut fruit filling for. We put coconut milk, bananas, pears, cinnamon, and ginger in a sauce pan and heated it all together. We filled our crepes with the filling and topped with kiwi's (grocery store splurge!).

This recipe uses coconut flour, which is costly.  But I justify this cost because coconut flour absorbs A LOT of liquid, meaning that recipes call for very little of it. This recipe only called for 3 Tablespoons! And I have never had to use more than 1/4 C in a recipe. It may be an expensive ingredient, but one bag lasts us a really long time! I would definitely recommend investing in some, we like Bob's Red Mill brand.

Late night snack: "Ice Cream" lol. Some creation containing coconut milk, water, ice, cocoa powder, banana, almond extract, and vanilla extract.
Having a high quality blender has really made this detox a lot easier. We love our Blendtec, the investment is worth it!

I am getting SO excited to add oatmeal back into my diet :). The simple pleasures of life ha ha.
Have an excellent, healthy week!

Day Twelve & Thirteen: Salsa Chicken, in love!

DAY TWELVE & THIRTEEN

I've been feeling rather unambitious for writing my own workouts lately, maybe because my brain is focused on creating a million other things and I just want someone to tell me what to do in one area of my life lol?
Yesterday I did a phase one workout from Jamie Eason's Livefit trainer on bodybuilding.com. I am strongly considering starting this program in February and completing the whole thing would be a fabulous way to get ready for SUMMER ;). Then this summer when I am done with school I can focus more on getting personal training certified and creating legit workouts. Today I did a workout I found on Pinterest from gritbybrit.com. It was such an awesome workout, my polar heart rate monitor said I burned 640 calories too! See my "motivation" board on Pinterest for more details, I couldn't find the workout on her website but the picture is on Pinterest.

Here is a variety of things I have been eating the last few days:

Green Apples with Almond Butter, new favorite snack! I could just eat the Almond Butter by the spoonful lol, but the apples are nice. Try it :).

Chocolate Smoothie
8 oz Almond Milk
1/2 Banana
1-2 Tbs Cocoa Powder (i don't measure it, I just shake some in)
1 Tsp Vanilla
1 Tbs Chia Seeds
Handful of Spinach (optional, you really do not taste it so load up!)
10-15 Ice Cubes
Blend well.
I've seriously probably made this three times in the last 48 hours ;).

Salsa Chicken, made in the crockpot. I got the idea from Little B's Healthy Habits website but changed it up a bit for us. I didn't use the taco seasoning like she recommended, and I used a Private Selection brand Salsa from Smith's. Read the ingredient list and make sure it sounds like real salsa. It should be low in ingredients, ingredients that you know and have no added sugar.
We served it over Romaine Lettuce with broccoli, a little bit of black beans, cheese, and sour cream. Pick a salsa you like (or make you own), the salsa I picked was way hot like my lips were on fire lol but it was still delicious. I have eaten this multiple times, definitely a recipe I will keep for post detox.

I have been reading a lot of weight loss, weight lifting, and nutrition articles the past couple of weeks. Some promise miracles, some are realistic, and some are completely INSANE. The only real way to get anywhere is to be consistent and don't give up. Make a realistic workout plan and consistently do it, and be consistent with eating nutritionally. It works. Slim-fast, it-works wraps, ace, etc. I mean really? Since when was it so hard to just do something good for your body to lose weight? I did a survey for my marketing class and a lot of people mentioned that they don't have time to achieve their ideal body. I don't doubt that this is a common problem, but you can use your daily activities to help you. Stand up more, walk more, and hell even clean more. Just move and eat real foods.

I'll try to track what I eat better the next few days so I can have a better post :)
Thirteen days sugar free and feeling like a champion ;).

Day Ten & Eleven: Can I do this Forever?

DAY TEN & ELEVEN

Long time no post;)!

School is yet again consuming my life, but it will all  be worth it in four more sweet months. I always work Wednesdays and have a full day of school so my food was not that exciting. I stayed on plan, but it was a lot of boiled eggs, fruit, and raw veggies. Being hungry at work made my cravings out of control and I spent a lot of time eyeing up all the goodies that other people were buying ( I work at a grocery store).  So my tip is do not let yourself get hungry, eat eat eat everything you're allowed to on the detox. The foods are so much lower in calories than processed food so you really can eat a TON, do it.

The detox is also forcing  me to find healthy snacks, and I am becoming quite attached to a lot of them. This makes me really excited for post detox knowing that there are healthy alternatives that I enjoy. Sometime I will do a blog post on all of these healthy snacks once I acquire enough pictures :).

This morning I slept in and did not get my workout in until the afternoon. It was Leg Day again and I am so happy to say that I had plenty of energy to do everything I wanted! My body must finally be getting used to using the new foods I am feeding it instead of waiting for a sugar rush from Swedish fish to push through my workouts with.

Here is what I ate today:

Breakfast: French Toast Eggs ( lol I created, named them, and LOVE them)
1 whole egg
3 egg whites
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 banana, thinly sliced
1/4 C blueberries
cinnamon and nutmeg
coconut oil

Heat the coconut oil in your fry pan and add the bananas, let the bananas saute for about a minute. Add your eggs and before they become not runny add your vanilla distributing it evenly. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg. Meanwhile scoot eggs to one side of fry pan and add blueberries. When eggs are cooked, plate them with blueberries on top. Holy deliciousness!

Lunch: Green Smoothie, spinach banana cocoa powder a 1/4 of a scoop of whey protein (not technically detox allowed) and vanilla. After I had a healthy sized spoonful of Almond Butter ;)

Mid-Afternoon: Boiled egg and baby carrots

Dinner: Shepherds Pie from the 21 Day Sugar Detox Book, by far one of my favorite recipes from the book. Instead of mashed potatoes they used steamed and mashed cauliflower, pure deliciousness. And instead of beef we used ground turkey.

As you can see my husband added an extra large dose of cheese on the top. Though detox approved may not be weight loss approved lol;).

So here we are more than halfway through the detox and I am really starting to think about what I want my diet to look like after this. I do feel satisfied eating this way, and I really do not miss the foods I can't eat that often. But I do like to bake and try all of those fun recipes on Pinterest so I am going to have to find some sort of a balance. I know for sure that my post detox diet is going to contain more fat and more protein. Every time I eat a meal that has a lot of healthy fats in it my mental clarity and energy is amazing. And I felt like my biceps looked bigger last night, lol I even made Ryan watch me flex ha! I plan to continue thinking about this :).

Best Wishes!

Day Nine: I want a real milkshake

DAY NINE

Hi everyone :).
Today was day nine, a big day for cravings for Ryan and I but we have held strong. If we were each on our own I think we would have broke by now so there is definitely a lot to be said for doing this as a family, group, or with a partner. Accountability and support is huge. This morning I did a the Lift workout from Ashley Conrad's Clutch Cut program on bodybuilding.com. I have done this workout before and as always it was intense! Most of what I have learned has come from following a TON of different workout programs and philosophies, don't be afraid to experiment with what works best for your body. Changing things up often is also a great way to keep and enhance results.

Here is what I ate today:

Breakfast: Love me some Green Smoothies! This one had almond milk, ice, blueberries, banana, and kale.

Lunch: One egg and two egg whites scrambled with half of a grapefruit and some slices of cheese.
Just an FYI I don't eat egg whites because I think egg yolks are bad for you. Whole eggs are extraordinarily healthy for you and I encourage you to consume them more frequently. I personally don't like egg yolks and I try to save a few calories this way.

Dinner: Brazilian Curry Chicken from paleoomg.com

Delicious, we made a few modifications to the recipe. And served it with cabbage and full fat sour cream on top, simply because it was in the fridge and needed used.

After dinner I made us chocolate "milkshakes" lol.
Almond milk, banana, cocoa powder, vanilla, and a lot of ice all blended together.
I think I will be keeping this treat combo for after the detox! Hopefully someday I can kick the habit of feeling like I need a treat everyday, at least on the detox I know that the "treats" are all nutritious for me.

I am also doing market research for my marketing class this semester, and it is fitness related so please please please take and share my survey:

We are almost HALF way through this!!!

Lots of Love!

Day Eight: Positive Vibes :)

DAY EIGHT

Helloooo. Today I finished my internship so it is a glorious day :). Not that I didn't love my internship I just am looking forward to having that time to focus more on my classes this semester. As a thank you, I wanted to make caramel brownies for the staff at the vet clinic. Only I knew there was no way I could trust myself to make them while on the detox so I enlisted my sister and gave her all of the ingredients. But when she gave me the brownies this morning she also returned the half unused bag of chocolate chips. That was VERY dangerous lol! But I wadded it up in a bag and threw it in my backseat......

No workout for me today, had my internship and classes until 8 PM. Gotta do what you can!

Here is what I ate today:

Breakfast: One egg and three egg whites, a slice of cheese, half of a grapefruit.
Healthy can be simple!

Lunch: I was very unprepared today and didn't really eat lunch, except for the 21 Day Sugar Detox Pumpkin muffin I stole from my mother (who works on campus). The Pumpkin muffins are featured in the book and I will definitely be making them soon, they were delicious!

Afternoon Snack: 1/2 banana, and a slice of mozzarella

Dinner: Curry Roasted Butternut Squash and Chickpeas from Delish.com. This is officially going on my favorite dinners list.
I should note the detox recommends limiting the foods in this dinner (butternut, chickpeas) to 1/2 cup servings per day. I am sure Ryan and I gorged ourselves beyond those allowances but at least it is all healthy whole foods and not brownies or Mountain Dew.

We also ate Chocolate Chia Seed pudding when I got home from class.

My energy is still through the roof and I'm loving it. But more than that I am loving how positive my mood has been. I didn't think that the junk foods I was consuming on a daily basis could affect my mindset so much. I have so much more motivation for the future and everything I want to accomplish. And most of all I am filled with an overwhelming sense of hope and peace. I know that I will most likely be adding back in some of the NO foods and having/making treats on occasion but I'm hoping I can find a greater balance than I had before.

Looking forward to Day 9, new foods, and adventures!

Day Six & Seven: Pizza n' Pancakes

DAY SIX & SEVEN

Day Six
Yesterday may have been my worst day on the detox, I had absolutely no energy. I didn't get as much sleep as I usually do the night before so maybe that played a part in it. I did a workout in the afternoon and I literally felt like I was dragging myself through it. I didn't even finish all of the things I had planned and just ended up on the spin bike for twenty five minutes trying to make myself feel like I had actually accomplished something! I ended up with a 420 calorie burn and that's good enough for me!

I always write my workouts down like this to keep me on track in the gym, if it's on the list it gets done (except for yesterday lol). Plan what you are going to do before you get there and I promise you will see more results.

Here is what I ate yesterday:

Breakfast: Green Smoothie- handful of kale, handful of spinach, 1/4 of banana, 2 Tablespoons chia seeds, almond milk, and a 1/4 C of blueberries

Lunch: Okay so lunch was a bit of a slip-up. My dad came up and took my sisters and I to Olive Garden. I did eat soup and salad, but I made the best choice I could. AND I skipped on the breadsticks, croutons, and Andes mint at the end.

Dinner: Spaghetti Squash Pizza (YUM!!) from Jo and Sue. I didn't take a picture, but here is the link to the recipe: http://joandsue.blogspot.ca/2013/03/spaghetti-squash-crust-pizza.html . If you want it to be more crust like do not skip the step of ringing the moisture out of the spaghetti squash prior to forming the crust, this is a crucial step for cauliflower pizzas too.

After dinner my cravings were out of control and I went to our bedroom to read a book, meanwhile my cute husband made the best on plan dessert I have ever had! It was a Chocolate Chia Seed Pudding, as always I do not know exact measurements for my husband's recipes. But here is what was in it:
Chia Seeds
Canned Coconut Milk
One Banana
Cocoa Powder
Cinnamon
Vanilla
Refrigerate for 1-2 hours.

I could have eaten the whole freaking bowl!

Day Seven

This morning I woke up and hit the gym for an awesome shoulder workout, my energy has definitely returned! On Sundays I really like to eat pancakes, so this morning I made this on plan coconut flour pancake recipe for brunch: Vanilla Pancakes from the Food Lover's Kitchen.

I cut the recipe in half and got one GIANT pancake for breakfast at just under 300 calories with the blueberries. Ryan work's Sundays so I am on my own this morning!

Tonight will be Sunday dinner at Ryan's parents house. We are going to stay as on plan as we can and bring a side that we can eat. I cannot believe that we have made it one whole week, only two more weeks to go!
Happy Sunday!

Day Five: A Movie with NO FOOD

DAY FIVE

Hello :).

Today was Friday and day five of the sugar detox, still going strong! I was busy most of the day which was helpful but also left me near starvation by the time I got home. We went to Ender's Game tonight at the cheap theatres because that is what poor married people do. Such a good movie :). I did feel a little grumpy about the fact that everyone in the theatre had candy, or popcorn. And I caught Ryan eyeing up a few people with 44 oz sodas lol, he has really been craving Mountain Dew today. I surprisingly am having very few cravings, in fact I really feel great. I am experiencing clear day-lasting energy, sleeping through the night, and feeling extremely positive. This detox feels like a blessing, and I am hoping I can keep a lot of the habits I am picking up.

Here is what we ate today:

Breakfast: Last night I prepped Chia Seed pudding which I have been apprehensive about trying for a long time. The key measurement is three tablespoons of chia seeds per one cup of milk, and allow it to refrigerate overnight. I did three tablespoons of chia seeds, one cup of almond milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and 1/4 cup of blueberries. It was delicious!

Lunch: I ate cold leftover Pizza Soup in my car before I drove to my internship. I also had two Almond Butter Cups. It was still good cold....or I was hungry :). See previous post for recipes.

Dinner: Paleo Chicken Pad Thai from thepaleomom.com

A very blurry picture of my bowl after we garnished with cilantro and green onions. I was very apprehensive about the fish sauce in this recipe, and even after we added it I was convinced I was going to bed hungry lol. But when we got everything combined and sat down to eat it was very yummy and filling. I would make it again! (we omitted the coconut aminos to keep costs down)

After the movie we went to the grocery store and the first thing we saw upon walking in was a giant tower of Mountain Dew, haha Ry about died. But all we left with was unsweetened shredded coconut so I could make these babies:

Not-Sweet Cinnamon Cookies from the 21-day Sugar Detox Book. They were pretty good! What I love about the "treats" in this book is that I eat one and I'm like okay I feel good. They satisfy that need I'm feeling, but I don't eat them all in one sitting as compared to normal cookies ;).

Happy Friday Everyone!!
Here we come DAY 6!

Day Three & Four: Did someone say Almond Butter Cups??

DAY THREE & FOUR

Hi!
Yesterday I was busy from 8 AM to 10 PM, crazy day. I didn't workout, but I did attend a full day of school and a full night of work! Ryan and I both stayed on plan, cleaning up the leftovers from the various things we have cooked the last day. After yesterday I was really excited to eat something new today lol!

Today I did a workout from Jamie Eason's Livefit Trainer. I have never done this program in it's entirety but if I am ever looking for a workout to make me REALLY sore I will pull one from here. I am proud to say I am already feeling the arms and abs workout I did this morning! Someday when I can be fully committed to all of my workouts and food prep I would like to do Jamie Eason's 12 week program and follow it to a T. Maybe this Summer, but certainly not this Spring semester which is proving to be insane!

Here is what we ate today:

Breakfast (I forgot to take a picture): I scrambled three whole eggs for Ryan, and I scrambled one whole egg and three egg whites for myself. We also each had one cup of baked butternut squash. This breakfast was extremely filling and I love butternut!

Lunch:

Ryan made this red cabbage salad from The Food Network a day ahead and it was delicious (he ommitted the golden raisins and sugar). I also had a grapefruit and some chocolate chai tea.

Dinner:
Ryan also made this for dinner tonight (he had more time than me lol I promise I cook). IT WAS FREAKING DELICIOUS. Probably the most satisfying meal I have had since being on the detox.
It was Pizza Soup from paleogirlskitchen.com.

And seems today was an incredibly long day (and I ran out of paleo banana bread), I made these Almond Butter Cups from the 21 Day Sugar Detox Book. These are no Reeses peanut butter cups, but I felt like I was getting a treat and they are loaded with healthy fats! Plus who doesn't like cute things in mini muffin cups?!

We are still going strong! I am not craving sweets as much as I am craving some of the other no foods (like peanut butter, pasta, etc.) But my energy is through the roof! I wake up feeling more rested than I have felt the past couple of weeks, and I am staying awake in all of my classes which is a miracle!

DAY 5 HERE WE COME! Almost one week down!

Tuesday, January 7, 2014

Day Two: Eat everything!

DAY TWO

I have to keep telling myself this is going to get easier! I feel like I am hungry no matter what I eat, I even calculated my calories out to make sure I'm eating as much as I usually do and I am. I attribute this to my body converting from using sugar as fuel to using more protein and fat based meals for fuel. The book says this is normal and should clear up by day five. Lol I pray I make it there. I am not really craving sweets as much as I am craving a giant roll with butter....and maybe some jam. Ryan says he has had a headache all day, and he told me he would pay $20.00 for a Mountain Dew haha!

I started my morning with a chest workout, twenty minutes of cardio, and this lovely ab circuit:

10 Lying Leg Raises
20 Bicycle crunches
40 second Plank
20 Crunches (legs straight up)
30 second Left Side Plank
30 second Right Side Plank

Repeat 4X.
Feel the Burn:)

Here is what we ate today:

Breakfast: 21 Day Sugar Detox Apple Streusel Muffins, the same ones I ate yesterday morning. Still pretty good for a day two reheat! See day one post for recipe.

11:30 AM: Generous piece of Paleo Banana Bread with butter (the book recommends using ghee instead of butter). See day one post for recipe.
Just perusing the NO list before we went grocery shopping!

1:00 PM: Green Smoothie, extra large handful of spinach, 8 oz almond milk, 1 T Almond Butter, 1/4 of a Banana

4:00 PM: One cup of baked Butternut Squash (while I cooked dinner)

Dinner: Pumpkin Cream Chicken Casserole (we omitted the spaghetti squash) from paleoomg.com with leftover Paleo Detox Salad from fedandfit.com (see day one post for recipe.)

We are also considering making the Moo-less Chocolate Mousse from the 21 Day Sugar Detox Book tonight ;).

Today we also went grocery shopping for our food for the next week and possibly further. We usually plan out enough meals for one week and buy the ingredients, but with leftovers it often lasts a week and a half or more. So my PSA for the day is that healthy eating is not that much more expensive than processed eating. In fact after years as a cashier at a grocery store, I would argue that processed eating is MUCH MORE expensive! I hate hate hate when I hear people say they can't afford to eat healthy. Shop the sales, go to more than one store, modify the recipe! Also, use your local caselot sales to stock up on healthy basics like chicken stock, diced tomatoes, beans, etc. We spent $47.00, for one week of food and here is our cart:

Now would I love to buy organic locally raised chicken? YES, but that is not in our budget right now. Would I love to be a canned coconut milk snob and only buy the top brands? YES, but that is not in our budget. You can modify recipes, buy on sale items, and eat healthy on a modest budget. So, no excuses!

On to DAY THREE!!:)

Day One: Amen for Paleo Banana Bread!!

DAY ONE

Hey!
Today was day one...and we did awesome! Lol despite my grouch master episodes due to my empty soul feeling with no dessert for after dinner, not to mention it was the first day back to school!

I started my day off with a 5:00 AM workout (I know, crazy.). I haven't seen 5 AM for awhile and my motivation was lacking so I only did 45 minutes of cardio. Thirty minutes on the elliptical with calf raises every ten minutes, and fifteen minutes of incline walking. Despite there being no weight lifting, I'm considering it a success. :)

Here is what we ate today:

These muffins I prepared on Sunday and were pretty good reheated for breakfast. I also made the Herbed Egg Muffins which are found in the 21 Day Sugar Detox book.

Lunch, Paleo Detox Salad from fedandfit.com
We omitted the beets because they were too expensive right now, and added carrots. It was absolutely delicious and filling. I also had an orange with this meal, which is not quite 21 day sugar detox "legal" but was handy when I hurried out the door.

Dinner, Ryan's Soup Creation (butternut squash, curry, coconut milk, onion, cilantro --> he doesn't record recipes)
This was absolutely delicious! I had seconds of it and I am so grateful my husband is a good cook!

When I got home from my night class I desperately needed something that felt like a treat. So I whipped up this 21 day sugar detox approved Paleo banana bread, I have yet to taste it but here is a picture of the glory right out of the oven (thank you Civilized Caveman)!

All of the in text links will take you to the recipes for these items, except for my husbands dinner creation.
Without wonderfully experimentive Paleo cooks I would be severely suffering right now!
Ready for day two? :)
